Leslie Giles, Principal Broker and Historic Property Specialist at Lexington Real Estate Connection, understands that every person and every place has a unique story, in life generally and real estate specifically.

Born in Texas, her multicultural family tree includes French (Cajun), Spanish (New Mexican), native (Apache), and British roots – a truly all-American mix! After completing a B.A. at the University of Texas, Leslie worked part-time as a real estate appraiser’s assistant; and in 1990 she obtained a Master of Architectural History degree at the University of Virginia.

Before entering the real estate profession, Leslie worked at state historic preservation offices in New York, Virginia, and Colorado; was a private consultant; and served as the Executive Director of Historic Lexington Foundation. Her unique expertise in historic architecture — and commitment to serving others — now support her clients in the complex world of real estate.

In addition to being a REALTOR(R), Leslie is a homeowner, serial renovator, and real estate investor. She understands the practical aspects of acquiring and managing property, and is always prepared to share her knowledge with others. Leslie brings professional skills in writing, architectural photography, interior design/staging, graphic design, and more to the marketing of her listings. An experienced negotiator, she also continually seeks out educational and training opportunities to better serve her clients. Since late 2019, Leslie has been the owner and Principal Broker of Lexington Real Estate Connection.

New to the area? Leslie’s knowledge of area resources, obtained over two decades as a local resident, is at your service. She and her husband Dan Pezzoni (author of The Architecture of Historic Rockbridge) moved to Lexington in 1997; their two sons attended both city and county schools. Through years of volunteer service, Leslie has connections with numerous local groups, including FOR Swimming, Friends of Lime Kiln (FOLK), Historic Lexington Foundation, Hull’s Angels, Main Street Lexington, Rockbridge Highlands REALTORS(R), and The Community Table.

Giving Back. Leslie is an active member of the Design Committee of Main Street Lexington, participates in two local garden clubs, and is in her second term on the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Capitol Foundation.  She is a cantor and choir member at St Patrick Catholic Church, and regularly contributes to local, statewide, and national organizations that support animal rescue, cancer research, historic preservation, homeownership, and conservation education.
