About Sean Carney

Sean Carney brings a lifetime of service, dedication, and community focus to his real estate career. He joined the U.S. Navy in 2003 after feeling a strong call to serve and continue his family’s proud military tradition.

During a deployment in 2009, Sean met his wife, Amy, who is originally from Australia, beginning a partnership rooted in adventure, commitment, and shared values.

Since 2009, Sean and Amy have been frequent visitors to Lexington, spending time with Sean’s family, Steve and Paula Martin. Over the years, they fell in love with Rockbridge County and the surrounding area, drawn to its natural beauty, close‑knit community, and relaxed way of life.

When Sean retired from the Navy in 2024, the decision was easy: they made Buena Vista home.

Today, Sean and Amy are raising their two sons, Owen (13) and Aiden (12), on their property, where life is full and lively. As a family, they love spending time together outdoors and enjoying everything the area has to offer.

Sean is extremely excited to be the newest member of the Paula Martin Team and the Lexington Real Estate Connection family. His years of military service have instilled a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to helping others.
